Why Wellbeing Matters

As an employer, you have a duty of care to protect your employees’ physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. This isn’t just about hard hats and safety signs — it includes stress and mental health too.

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 requires you to identify risks, including stress, and take proportionate steps to manage them. That doesn’t mean expensive corporate programmes. For small businesses, even small shifts can make a huge difference: a stress risk assessment, regular check-ins, or setting clearer boundaries can all protect your people and support performance.

When wellbeing is taken seriously, businesses benefit from:

  • Lower absence and staff turnover.

  • Higher motivation and energy.

  • Stronger performance and growth.

What Good Looks Like

Every small business is different. For some, good means healthy habits and steady energy. For others, it’s about high attendance and engagement. For others still, it’s about building resilience and supportive relationships.

Together, we’ll define what good looks like for your business, and create something practical that fits your goals, your people, and your budget.

How I Can Help

I provide tailored, affordable support designed for small business owners, including:

  • Wellbeing Plan — simple, proportionate steps aligned with your business goals.

  • Stress Awareness Training — practical tools for spotting and managing stress early.

  • Resilience & Self-Care Workshops — helping teams stay focused and energised.

  • Stress Risk Assessments & Action Plans — covering your legal responsibilities.

  • Coaching & Ongoing Support — so wellbeing becomes part of everyday work, not an add-on.

What You’ll Gain

By working together, you’ll:

  • Have peace of mind you’re meeting your legal responsibilities.

  • Build a healthier, more motivated team.

  • Spot issues early and act with confidence.

  • Balance wellbeing with productivity.

A real example: In our own care team, we introduced wellbeing days to give people practical tools to look after themselves. The result? Fewer sick days, stronger team spirit, and a team who know that their wellbeing really matters to us.

What Others Say

About My Approach

I know small business owners don’t have the time or budget for big corporate schemes. My approach is about wellbeing that works in real life — practical, proportionate, and tailored.

I studied Do Workplace Health Right with Amy McKeown, one of the UK’s leading experts in workplace wellbeing and mental health. I also hold a Level 5 Diploma in Mental Health and Wellbeing Awareness, a Postgraduate Certificate in Mental Health and Wellbeing, and I’m a member of the International Stress Management Association.

I’m also trained in advanced hypnosis and NLP techniques, accredited by the Complementary Medical Association (CMA), which I use gently and only when helpful — and only if clients want them.

This combination of professional training and lived leadership experience means the support you receive is:

  • Evidence-based and credible

  • Aligned with your legal responsibilities

  • Adapted to the realities of small business life

  • Focused on both people and business growth
